Children with and without speech and language problems join together for fun activities that are designed to stimulate language and social interaction. Camp Talkalot is a highly interactive engaging experience designed to teach children the communication skills necessary for improving the following social/communicative functions such as:- Greeting Friends
- Cooperating with Peers
- Making Conversation
- Asking / Forming questions
- Securing and maintaining the attention of the listener while speaking
- Listening to others when they speak
- Expressing feelings and thoughts
- Responding to aggression / negotiating conflict
- Listening comprehension and processing the speaker thoughts
Kamp Talkalot is an opportunity for your child to participate in an intensive pragmatic language experience. Pragmatic language is the use of communication of the purpose of interactive or social communication. Therapists set up situations that require your child to use language appropriately to communicate with other children.
